Two wins in four days for leaders

-

TIBSHELF continue to dominate Group B of the G&T Jenkins Midlands Regional Alliance Premier Division Cup after winning twice in four days, writes Dan Bishop.

They hit seven goals without reply at home against Cromford & Wirksworth Town Reserves, with Aaron Turner (2), Lewis Macaskill, Jordan Macaskill, Paul Holmes, Nathan Flint and Steve Webster doing the damage.

And they followed that with another impressive victory, beating Shirebrook Rangers 5-0.

Turner grabbed another brace and was joined on the scoresheet again by Flint and Jordan Macaskill, while Jack Stevens completed the scoring.

Sleetmoor United and Cromford & Wirksworth Town shared a 1-1 draw, while Ashbourne Reserves picked up their first win by beating Rowsley 86 Reserves 2-1.

Allenton United remain top of Group A but it took the odd goal in seven for them to overcome basement side Castle Donington.

They lead Derby Singh Brothers – who were 7-1 winners against Rollsroyce Leisure – by three points.

Khaleeq Shafique (2), Fortunate Sithole (2), Surafel Fox Behailu, Kishan Patel and Jordan Patten netted Singh Brothers’ goals.

Owen Nixon’s solitary second-half goal gave Little Eaton victory over Moira United in the remaining Group A match.

Back-to-back wins for Melbourne Dynamo Reserves saw them replace Burton United at the top of Division One Cup Group A.

Joe Shadbolt (2), Jacob Dussroth, and Callum Horton scored in Dynamo’s 4-2 home win against Hilton Harriers Reserves.

The same three players were on target as Dynamo won 3-2 at Acorn Albion on Saturday, with Alex Rowland and Sam Taylor replying for the hosts.

Dynamo hit the summit after late goals from Lewis Wilson and Matthew King gave Willington a 2-1 win over previous leaders Burton.

Hilton put their midweek disappointment behind them, winning 2-0 at Newhall United on Saturday thanks to a Joe Nye penalty and a strike from Lewis Hanley.

The weekend’s two matches in Group B of the Division One Cup produced 16 goals.

Bargate Rovers suffered their first defeat as leaders UDSU Derby hit them for six.

Josh Rice scored for hosts Bargate but it proved to be a mere consolation as Jack Allen (2), Joe Kelly, Morgan Schuler and Konrad Polny netted for the visitors.

Courtney Harris, John Jordan and Adrian Westfield all bagged braces for Sherwin as they beat Little Eaton Reserves, and were joined on the score sheet by David Gabor. Jamie Astley and Louis Kinnerley returned fire for the visitors.

The top versus bottom clash in Group A of the Division Two Cup went according to the form book, with Stenson winning 9-2 away against Burton Khalsa.

Fahazhan Riaz and Zeeshan Mahmood netted for Burton but Niall Worrall (4), Ashley Hargreaves, Tom Dallison, Rob Horton, Matt Roberts and Jake Danby ensured a resounding win for the visitors.

Burton Khalsa replace Derby United at the foot of the table after Sam Holdgate’s brace earned the latter a 2-1 win at home to Punjab United.

Willington Reserves hit three second half goals without reply against their Castle Donington counterparts, courtesy of Rhys Brade (2) and Othmanne Bouzzamer.

Division Two Cup Group B is home to the closest contest, with three teams currently level at the top on three points.

FC Sunnyhill went down 1-0 at Inter Belper, allowing Glapwell Development – who won 7-0 away against Bakewell Town Development – to draw level with them at the top with identical goal difference.

Derby Singh Brothers Reserves also have six points but an inferior goal difference after a 4-1 win away against South Normanton Colts.
