Adeel is awash with generosity
A BURTON man has raised more than £4,000 after hosting two charity car washes.
Adeel Ahmed, 29, runs Detailing Drr, a mobile car valeting and detailing service and stayed closed throughout the month of Ramadan and focused his attention towards supporting the needy.
He held two car wash events on Sunday, April 25, and Sunday, May 2, at Speedys Wheel and Tyres, in Hawkins Lane.
Some £3,200 will be used to build a mosque in the Central African Republic, while the rest of the money will be used to build two water wells. one in Africa and one in Pakistan.
Adeel will be working with Charity SOS, an independent non-governmental organisation founded by like-minded people who have worked in the charity sector for more than a decade.
It specialises in building water pumps and mosques in povertystricken countries and has a 100 per cent donation policy.
Mr Ahmed said: “The events went really well and I am truly humbled with the support the community in Burton and other towns and cities have shown. We had a very good turnout on both days, and I was very impressed with the support shown to the cause.
“The money has been sent off to Charity SOS, and I will be updating everyone as and when I receive any information on where the process for the mosque is.
“One week we were there for 15 hours and I would like to thank those who volunteered on both days, even whilst fasting. I had a lot of support from my friends and family and I am glad to see my target has been achieved.
“The benefits of the donations will be very useful for plenty of people, especially as The Central African Republic is one of the world’s least-developed countries, with over 60 per cent of its population living in poverty.
“Once the mosque has been built, every time someone enters the donors will be rewarded and likewise every time someone drinks from the well, they will also get rewarded.”
