Along with the usual Post Office services, plus an in-store bakery, Stuart added a few essential lines to his shop including much-sought-after toilet roll as well as greetings cards. His Post Office also sells National Lottery tickets.

“We’ve had quite a few winners over the past year for smaller amounts,” he says. “But the Rolldown has meant that prize money of £30 for example has sometimes increased to £116 which has made a difference to a lot of people.”

A Rolldown happens when the jackpot has rolled over so many times that the prize has to be won. Anyone who matches two numbers during a Rolldown draw will get £5 and a Lucky Dip to play again for free. And anyone matching numbers should see their prize increased.
