Generating ideas to aid jobseekers

-

DWP Digital is hosting a virtual hackathon to explore how technology and innovation can help jobseekers find and access employment following Covid.

The “Hack2work” event is taking place from July 6-8, inviting digital tech specialists to hack the problem, generate ideas and co-develop a solution.

If you’re a designer, developer, project manager, user researcher, or a digital enthusiast interested in tech for good, register for Hack2work at https://www. eventbooking.uk.com/ Dwpdigitalhack2work/index.php.

Jobcentre staff, digital tech specialists and Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) colleagues will be on-hand to share insights and identify gaps to inspire attendees.

Jacqui Leggetter, head of integration at DWP Digital, said: “Covid has had a major impact on the UK jobs market. Almost two thirds of people who lost their jobs are under the age of 25.

“This is our fifth hackathon – the first online – and the creativity displayed at previous events has been inspiring. They’re a great way of bringing fresh thinking and diversity to some of the country’s most pressing digital challenges.”
