Another teenager charged with murder of Benjamin

A SECOND teenager has been charged with murder in connection with the death of Benjamin Orton, police have revealed.
A 16-year-old boy has already been charged with murder, attempted murder and possession of an offensive weapon. The youngster, who cannot be named for legal reasons, appeared in court on Tuesday afternoon, when he was remanded in custody. He will next appear at Derby Crown Court today.
Now, a 17-year-old has been charged with murder and attempted murder, while another unnamed 17-year-old has been charged with assisting an offender and perverting the course of justice.
The pair were due to appear before magistrates in Derby yesterday.
They will now appear at Derby Crown Court alongside the 16-year-old.

All three teenagers cannot be named for legal reasons.
Officers were called to reports of an assault in an alleyway at the side of the Odeon cinema, in The Pipeworks retail park, in Coppice Side, Swadlincote, just before 10.40pm on Saturday.
Benjamin 17, who was from the town, died at the scene. He had suffered stab wounds.
A 20-year-old man was also found with serious and potentially life changing injuries. He was taken to hospital where he remains in a stable condition.

A cordon surrounded the alleyway afterwards while forensic offices combed the scene for clues.
