Harper is third new recruit for Ipswich
IPSWICH Town have signed midfielder Rekeem Harper from West Bromwich Albion.
Harper, 21, is Ipswich’s third summer signing and has agreed a three-year deal, with the club having the option of a further 12 months.
Ipswich boss Paul Cook told the club’s official website: “In Rekeem, we have a really good lad and someone who believes in everything we have spoken about.
“He knows the challenge that lies ahead and I’m thrilled that he has chosen to join us.”
Harper, a former England Under-19 international, progressed through West Brom’s academy and made 41 appearances in all competitions for the Baggies.
He has also had loan spells with Blackburn Rovers and Birmingham City and made two Premier League appearances at the start of last season.
The Tractor Boys also signed Wes Burns from Fleetwood Town and Wales midfielder Lee Evans from Wigan Athletic earlier this month.
Portsmouth have signed midfielder Shaun Williams on a one-year contract.
The former Republic of Ireland international will join Pompey when his Millwall contract expires next week.
The 34-year-old made 295 appearances for the Lions after arriving from MK Dons in 2014 and won three international caps in 2018.
Pompey head coach Danny Cowley told the club’s official website: “It’s a really good signing for us and we’re excited to add him to our group.
“Shaun’s played in the Championship for a lot of his career and is someone with international experience.”
Bolton Wanderers have signed goalkeeper Joel Dixon and forward Amadou Bakayoko, both on two-year deals.
The 27-year-old Dixon made 195 appearances for Barrow in five years, including 46 in League Two last season.
He turned down a contract offer with the Bluebirds to link up with former boss Ian Evatt.
The 25 year-old Bakayoko, born in Sierra Leone, was released by Coventry City at the end of his three-year contract at the end of last season.
