Bar at marina forced to shut doors to customers after a member of staff tested positive for Covid

-

LAST we reported how a bar and restaurant in South Derbyshire had been forced to close for 10 days due to Covid.

The Boardwalk Bar and Dining, at Mercia Marina, is to remain shut until at least Saturday after a member of staff tested positive for coronavirus.

The Willington eatery’s customers were informed of the news after bosses took to social media to explain what had happened. A post on the bar’s Facebook page said: “In light of the current coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic, and the positive Covid result received by a member of our team we have taken what we believe to be the right decision to temporarily close our site.

“This is to protect our team, customers and their families and to do all we can to help to prevent the spread of this highly contagious virus.

“Our team and guests have always been the most important thing to us and we would not wish to jeopardise health and wellbeing by acting improperly at this time.

“During these unprecedented times, we want to reassure you that the health and safety of our customers, employees and their families continues to be our number one priority.

“We will do our utmost to keep you informed about the situation and we will look forward to welcoming you back in ten days time. “Please keep a lookout on our social media for updates and we will hopefully see you on Saturday July 24.

“We appreciate your understanding of our situation. Stay safe, The Boardwalk team”.
