Covidiots hit in the pocket for breaching pandemic restrictions
PEOPLE from Burton and Uttoxeter were among those fined for attending house parties and outdoor gatherings during the last Covid lockdown when large groups of people were not permitted to be together.
There were also fines handed out at North Staffordshire Justice Centre to those who travelled outside their areas.
Andor Budai, 26, of Victoria Street, Burton, was convicted of participating in a gathering in a home Thornley Street, in the Tier 4 area of Burton, on February 5. The gathering consisted of two or more people. He was fined £440 and told to pay £90 court costs and a £44 victim surcharge.
Vanessa Burke , 31, of Stornaway Road, Leicester, was convicted of being a person living in the Tier 4 area of Leicester who left the place she was living to travel to Stafford on February 4. She was fined £440 and ordered to pay £90 court costs and a £44 victim surcharge.
Lewis Fowell, 20, of Church Close, Kingstone, Uttoxeter, admitted participating in a gathering in a home in Church Close, in the Tier 4 area of Uttoxeter, on February 24. The gathering consisted of two or more people. He was fined £200 and ordered to pay £90 court costs and a £34 victim surcharge.
