New info for pet detective on trail of last three stolen dogs

- By JENNY MOODY jennifer.moody@reachplc.com

A PET detective hunting for three dachshunds that were abducted from kennels in Swadlincote has received fresh information about their whereabouts.

Lisa Dean, of Beauty’s Legacy, is searching for the three sausage dogs that were stolen from Burton Road, Swadlincote, seven months ago.

Eight were taken in one go from the kennels but thankfully five have now been reunited with their family and are getting the help they need.

The three still missing are Cookie, who has different colour eyes which will make her easier to identify, black and tan Doris and red girl Nora.

Lisa said “snippets” of information were coming in that could help locate the remaining missing sausage dogs.

She said: “They are still missing and the police are being very proactive and scouring up and down the country to find them as the other five had been found in very different places. I would urge people to keep coming forward with any snippets of information as that is what has helped get the other five home.

“We’ve had a few people come forward with snippets of information. We’ve had no further leads that have come to anything since Jess was found.

“It is everything getting one of them home; it’s a euphoric moment and we will never give up on finding the other three and pray that we get them home.

“The others are doing very well and recovering nicely. They are still traumatised and some struggling with anxiety but they are all safe.”

The charity is working with police forces across the country and one dog warden helped with two of the dogs who were found close to each other – Rikki and Jess.

Jess was the last to be found last month. Rummy, Muffin and Percy are also recovering from their ordeal with their family.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Derbyshire Police, quoting reference 21000084142, via: its social media channels, its website at www. derbyshire.police.uk/contact-us, or by calling 101.

They can also anonymously contact the independent charity
