Broom is loving his spell with Plymouth

-

RYAN Broom thought his spectacular goal in Plymouth Argyle’s 4-1 win away to Accrington Stanley was the best of his career.

Broom, who is on a seasonlong loan from Peterborough United and was on loan with Burton Albion last season, smahed in Plymouth’s third goal from 25 yards.

He also provided the assist for striker Ryan Hardie to end an eight-game goal drought and thinks the current Argyle side might be the best team he has played in.

“I played in a good team at Cheltenham but this is a brilliant team,” he said.

“The way the gaffer (Ryan Lowe) sets us up is excellent and I’m really enjoying playing in it.

“It’s a great group of lads, more importantly. With the characters in the squad it’s just great to be around them. It’s probably the best team I have played in.”

Broom’s goal made it 3-1 just as Accrington were threatening a recovery.

“I enjoyed it. I just took a touch out of my feet and tried to hit it as well as I could and it went in,” he said.

“To be fair to the keeper (Toby Savin), he wasn’t too far away. I had to watch it in, I was on edge a little bit.

“With the way the game was as well, it was a good time to score.

“It’s probably my best goal I would say, just for the way I struck it and the way it went in. I was really happy with it.”

He is also happy with his partnership with Hardie.

“He is probably getting used to the way I like to cross and in what positions,” he added.

“It’s about building that relationship. I have had a couple of assists for him now and he has given me a few as well.”
