JCB drivers vote to strike

-

JCB delivery drivers have voted in favour of strike action.

GMB Union members have rejected a five per cent pay offer from the company and have voted to take strike action in anger at what union leaders describe as “a real terms pay cut”.

Dozens of GMB members, employed by delivery giant DHL, voted 96 per cent per cent in favour of industrial action during a formal strike ballot.

The workers, who deliver JCB parts between factories across the UK, will walk out on May 23 and 24, with more dates to be confirmed.

Stuart Harrison, GMB organiser, said: “GMB is here to support our members in fighting for what they deserve.

“These are skilled drivers who are falling behind with pay rates while the cost of living skyrockets.”
