BBQ weather on the way...next week!

-

OUR area is in for a pretty decent weekend and there will be some sunny spells next week – but forecasters have finally spotted a taste of proper summer-like weather, and it’s now just over a week away.

By next weekend high pressure will start to rebuild through Saturday and Sunday, following what will be a breezy but largely pleasant week, and this high pressure is lined up perfectly to deliver some warm, or even hot weather.

And the even better news is this glorious settled spell could last a while, as once again high pressure takes charge of our conditions as the high continues to dominate.

However, that’s the uncertain bit. How long the high pressure will stick around for is questionable at the moment, but at least Derbyshire looks set for a barbecue weekend, with temperatures potentially nudging past 25C and plenty of sunshine. But for the time being, this weekend looks mainly dry, with some cloud, but plenty of sunshine, especially today, and only light breezes. It will feel pleasant in the sun with temperatures comfortably nudging the high teens.

Next week will be largely cloudy, but still feeling nice and warm when the strong sun pokes through. Low pressure arrives from Tuesday, so expect it to be breezy but mild or even fairly warm, with temperatures staying up towards double figures overnight.

This low pressure will bring a chance of showers breaking out between Tuesday and Friday, so keep an eye on local forecasts to avoid any rain. And then, during Saturday, the high pressure should regain control and leave us basking in sunshine, with temperatures in the 20s and a potential for the heat to turn up a notch into the following week.
