Man taken to hospital following reports of a “van incident”

A MAN was taken to hospital after reports of an “incident involving a van” in Swadlincote. Officers from Derbyshire police were called to Coronation Street yesterday morning to reports of a man being injured.

Investigators from Derbyshire police currently believe the man was injured due to an “incident involving a van”. However, they warned their investigation is still in its early stages.

A spokesperson from Derbyshire police said: “We were called just after 8.25am today Friday, May 6, to reports of a man who was injured in the road on Coronation Street at Swadlincote.

“Enquiries are ongoing and at an early stage, but it is believed he may have been injured due to an incident involving a van.

“The man has been taken to hospital for injuries which were not thought to be serious. Anyone who may have witnessed the incident, or with dashcam or CCTV footage, should contact us, quoting reference 190-060522.”
