‘Cut bills by £1,000’
THE boss of energy company Scottish Power has called on the Government to cut 10 million households’ energy bills by £1,000 when the regulator reviews the price cap in the autumn.
Keith Anderson urged ministers to help the poorest households, warning that energy bills were expected to go up to between £2,500 and £,3000 in October. He said the Government’s plan to give each household £200 towards their energy bill - a sum that will need to be paid back - would not be enough.
