Freeloader repaid for drink by using doorstep as toilet

HUNT FOR FILTHY ‘SCUMMER’ WHO HAD BEEN GIVEN A FREE DRINK AFTER CARD DECLINED

- By MAIL REPORTER newsdesk@reachplc.com

BOSSES at a busy Burton pub have spoken of their absolute disgust after a man described as a “scummer” dropped his trousers and pooped right outside the front door.

The vile incident happened after Brews of the World had closed for the night.

It left bosses livid – especially as earlier in the evening they had given the culprit a free pint when his card was declined, they say.

They have told of their shock after checking their CCTV cameras, which showed a man caught seemingly lowering his trousers and going to the toilet outside the pub.

In a post on Facebook, the Station Street pub claimed that a man, who has not been named, had entered the pub just before last orders on Friday, May 6, and ordered a pint of lager.

After having his card declined multiple times, the management took pity on him and gave him the drink free as it had already been poured.

However, he reportedly did not finish the drink and was asked to leave the establishment after last orders were called. The venue says its cameras caught a man running up to the front door, lowering his trousers and defecating.

Writing on social media, a spokesperson from the pub said: “So…. This happened last night just after we closed up. This absolute scummer s*** in our doorway.

“He came in just before last orders and ordered a pint of lager. Card declined four times and no other way to pay.

“So me being me said ‘don’t worry about it this time mate, just drink it,’ as we are closing soon anyway. It’ll only go down the sink after all.

“He didn’t finish it anyway and had to be asked to leave in the end as he was the last one in. Literally, five minutes after locking up he ran back and did this in our doorway. Anybody know who he is please? Cheers.”

Management at the pub clarified that this was a one-off incident, but offered no further comment.
