Hundreds of jobs available at recipe box retailer’s £40m factory site
HUNDREDS of jobs will soon be created at a new £40 million factory opening in Burton.
St. Modwen Logistics will be building a new chilled fulfilment centre for the recipe box retailer Gousto, where recipe boxes will be packed and delivered nationwide.
The new site, which will be at St Modwen Park in Burton, is set to increase Gousto’s capacity by 40 per cent and will create hundreds of jobs, from engineering and warehouse managers to operatives and pickers.
Recruitment is set to begin next year, said a company spokesperson, although the exact number of new jobs that will be available is unknown.

An opening date for the “highly automated, chilled fulfilment centre” has not been disclosed, but will be built with sustainability in mind.
St. Modwen adheres to its own Swan Standard, which aims to improve the environment and sustainability, wellbeing, community, transport, and security, according to a company spokesperson.
The new centre will include threestorey, energy-efficient offices, made from recycled materials and including electric vehicle charging points in the car park.

The venture has been supported by East Staffordshire Borough Council, which hopes the new site will bring prosperity to the area.
Councillor George Allen, leader of the council, said: “We’re pleased that a business like Gousto has decided to invest in the region. Their arrival will bring great opportunities and further employment to the area.”
