£50k cannabis grow is found in house
POLICE have discovered a cannabis factory containing £50,000 worth of plants inside a home in South Derbyshire.
Officers from Swadlincote police safer neighbourhood team broke down the doors of a home in Woodland Road, Stanton, after obtaining a warrant.
The operation was carried out on Tuesday and information has now been released to the media.
Inside, officers found cannabis plants growing in two rooms inside the home. Enquiries are ongoing.
A spokesman for Derbyshire police said: “We carried out a warrant at a house in Woodland Road on the morning of May 10. Officers found plants growing in two rooms inside the house. Enquiries into the suspected cannabis plants are ongoing.”
A spokesman for Swadlincote Police Safer Neighbourhood Team said: “Officers actioned another successful drugs warrant this week at an address. Over £50,000 worth of cannabis plants were recovered from the address.”
