Body found 8 days after man went missing
A BODY has been found in the hunt for a missing man who had not been seen for eight days.
Edward Hill was last seen at 11.30pm on Friday, May 6 at his address in Main Street, Ingleby near Repton.
Concerns had been growing for the 52-year-old who was known to sometimes have a cigarette at the bottom of his garden which backs on to the River Trent, Derbyshire Police previously said.
Police have now issued a statement after a body was found in Castle Donington on Saturday afternoon.
Derbyshire Police has said they believe the body is that of missing man Mr Hill. They added his family had been made aware and a file is being prepared for the coroner.
A spokesperson said: “Officers have found a body believed to be that of missing man Edward Hill in Castle Donington.
“His family have been made aware and our thoughts are with them. A file is being prepared for the coroner. Thank you to everyone who shared our appeal.”
