New East Staffordshire mayor installed
COUNCILLOR Philip Hudson has become the 30th mayor of East Staffordshire.
He took over the role at the borough council’s annual meeting at Burton Town Hall last week. Councillor Hudson, who represents Crown ward, said before the ceremony: “I’m greatly looking forward to taking on the role as the borough ambassador for the next 12 months.
“It’s an exciting time to become mayor especially with the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee around the corner.
“I’m also looking forward to raising the profile of my chosen charities – Blood Bikes and Burton Albion Community Trust – through a range of events and functions and promote the great work they do.”
