THE PRINCE’S MASTER CRAFTERS: THE NEXT GENERATION
Sky Arts, 8pm
Who knew crafts were in as much danger as rhinos or tigers? This year in the UK alone, four heritage crafts were declared extinct and 56 more put on the endangered list.
This project, in conjunction with Prince Charles, aims to turn the tide by reinvigorating crafts with a new generation of talent.
Host Jim Moir (aka Vic Reeves), above, whose parents were crafters, says: “When it comes to crafts, Britain has a rich heritage – from basket weaving to blacksmithing, skills that have been passed down through generations that we now risk losing forever.”
Six amateur craftspeople will embark on a course, taught by experts, learning and exploring the history of six key disciplines.
