Leading medical jobs on offer for right candidates

WORKING in medicine takes years of hard work and dedication and is such an important job – for many it is a calling rather than a career. For those who have worked their way through the ranks, there are some high paying jobs on offer for people with the right experience.

These are just some of the director roles and higher paying positions that are currently on offer with the University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust, which runs Queen’s Hospital in Burton and the Royal Derby. They are based across different areas within the trust and for candidates with a wealth of different experience­s.

All of these positions are currently available to view on jobs website Indeed.com with plenty of others for those wanting to work at the trust in other roles. These are just some of the jobs currently on offer:

■■Director of Culture Salary: £95,135 - £109,475 a year

About the job: The role will be to lead the developmen­t of a compassion­ate and inclusive culture across the trust. They will lead “change and transforma­tion” with “organisati­onal developmen­t strategies, processes and initiative­s fostering a compassion­ate, high-performing culture, where continuous learning, improvemen­t and equality and diversity is embedded throughout.”

■■ Lead profession­al midwifery advocate

Salary: £41,659 - £47,672 a year

About the job: A forward-thinking and experience­d advocate is needed to lead and coordinate the growing team where they will utilise the four key elements of the NHSE A-EQUIP (Advocating for Education and Quality Improvemen­t) model to facilitate clear direction and coordinati­on of the team. They will develop a culture of support enabling midwives across all areas to provide high-quality care, identifyin­g opportunit­ies for improvemen­ts.

Director of people services Salary: £95,135 - £109,475 a year

About the job: The director will lead and develop a high-performing team to oversee the delivery of people services activities. They will ensure a comprehens­ive and complement­ary HR and workforce offer is in place to service the needs of clinical and non-clinical department­s across the organisati­on and working in partnershi­p with the staff and staff representa­tives.

Improvemen­t manager Salary: £48,526 - £54,619 a year

You will join our supportive team of like-minded colleagues and use your demonstrab­le knowledge and experience in continuous improvemen­t and/or project management to support the delivery of our organisati­on’s priorities.”

■■ Consultant in ophthalmol­ogy special interest in Retinal Macular Disease

Salary: £84,559 - £114,003 a year About the job: The successful candidate would join a team of eight consultant­s, one associate specialist, three specialty doctors, one registrar and one GP trainee offering a full range of services consistent with a large hospital. A spokesman said: “The Ophthalmol­ogy team is a friendly, dedicated and forward thinking team within the University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust.”

Locally employed upper limb fellow in trauma and orthopaedi­cs Salary: £58,398 a year

About the job: “Applicatio­ns are invited for this prestigiou­s post, which offers advanced training and experience in all aspects of upper limb surgery. The post would be most suitable for a trainee with CCT or a year 6 orthopaedi­c trainee, with FRCS (Orth) or equivalent, full GMC registrati­on with a licence to practise and with a special interest in knee surgery.

This is a 12-month appointmen­t; however candidates who are interested in a six-month post may also be considered. Please can you also identify when you would be available to commence this Fellowship if successful.”

Service manager - community planned care

Salary: £41,659 - £47,672 a year

About the job: The manager is a key member of the Business Unit management team. They will have responsibi­lity for the co-ordination of performanc­e management targets as well as the leadership of multiple administra­tive functions across the sites.

They will also play a key part in the developmen­t and transforma­tion of services for in local communitie­s, while working closely with colleagues across the wider organisati­on and alongside a range of system partners.
