Adeboyejo misses out on prize

BURTON Albion’s Victor Adeboyejo has missed out on the SKYBET/EFL October player of the month prize, which has gone to Bristol Rovers striker Aaron Collins, but manager Dino Maamria says the fact that he was nominated is a real feather in the striker’s cap, as well as being good recognition for the club.

Now he hopes Adeboyejo can use the recognition to kick on.

“Victor has been instrumental in our little rise, our steps forward,” said Maamria.

“It’s good to see that positivity there for him. Now he has to stay humble, which he is. We need him firing on all cylinders. He’s not arrived yet – the team haven’t – so there’s a lot of work still to do.”

League One’s manager of the month was a more clear-cut decision, going to Steven Schumacher of Plymouth Argyle, who were unbeaten in the month and dropped points in only one game as they led the division.
