Take an enchanted walk in illuminated wood
AN ILLUMINATED woodland billed as a spectrum of colours and wonder is open for people of Burton and East Staffordshire to visit – and is less than a 30 minute drive away.
The illuminated woodland walk is back for a third year in a row and is a celebration at the end of the year run by Heritage
Wood, just outside of Longford, near Church Broughton.
The walk is aimed at the whole family and consists of an evening walk through the woodland, which will take approximately 40 minutes. People taking part in the walk will follow a trail guided by lights.
During the walk, people will be able to take in the vibrant light displays and colourful illuminated trees which will light up dark winter evenings, said a spokesman for the event. And after the walk is complete, there will be hot drinks, food and stalls people can buy
from.
The route has been tailored to make it as wheelchair and pushchair friendly as possible, but people are being told to be aware the very nature of the woodland is uneven and may need some effort to propel wheels. Well behaved dogs are also welcome along the trail, but must be kept on a lead at all times.
People can visit the woodland on Friday, November 25, Saturday, November 26, and Sunday, November 27. The woodland is also open on the first weekend of December, with tickets available on the Heritage Wood website.
