Warning of roadworks next week

-

A LANE closure along the A38 is among several roadworks that could delay motorists this coming week.

One lane will be closed on the southbound carriageway just after the Branston Junction down to Burton Gateway from 8pm until 6am from Monday, November 14, until Saturday, November 26, as National Highways carries out drainage works.

There will also be more roadworks on major routes into Burton next week.

The below works all take place between Monday, November 14, and Sunday, November 20. Our list of roadworks will allow drivers to avoid potentially nightmarish tailbacks and delays to their journeys. ■■South Staffs Water is carrying out work along Derby Road, in Burton, from Monday, November 14, to Wednesday, November 16. A two-way traffic system is being put in place, and delays are likely due to the already busy flow of traffic seen on the main road. ■■Hawkins Lane, just off Derby Road, will have temporary lights on Wednesday, November 16. This is because Staffordshire County Council is carrying out work to remove lower branches along the roadside and will be removing small trees blocking highway signs to give clear visibility to drivers.

■■National Grid is digging up Horninglow Road until

Wednesday, November 16. A two-way traffic lights system will be in place. ■■Outwoods Lane, near Anslow, will remained closed until Thursday, November 17, as South Staffs Water carries out mains works. A diversion route is to be put in place for motorists, sending them along Field Lane, past the Co-op store in Horninglow, and along Beamhill Road.
