Former valeting site could become a coffee shop

-

A PLAN to convert a former car valeting business into a coffee shop and toastie takeaway business has been submitted to planning officials.

The proposal centres on the former Jeff Fowkes Wheels Ltd building in Station Road in Ibstock. The application has been submitted by Mr Fowkes himself. He said he would like to convert the building into a hot food takeaway business and coffee shop, with the likes of toasties to be sold to customers.

Mr Fowkes also said the project would provide a jobs boost. Planning documents submitted to North West Leicestershire District Council reveal that would be seven jobs, compared to the three jobs the old use created.

If approved by the council, the new business would also operate between 9.30am and 5.30pm Monday to Saturdays, with proposals to run from 10am until 4pm on Sundays and bank holidays.
