Where is the help for those who work hard?

-

BOTH myself and my wife sometimes work a 70-hour week – well actually most of the time we do; we earn minimum wage and have to work to live.

We do not have children, so we don’t get the privilege of having a council property, so we have to rent privately.

We cannot get a mortgage because of our age, so how are we suppose to cope with the price inflation of almost everything? No one helps us, everyone seems to think because we work that we are living the life of Riley – well we aren’t. Why do we not get help with the gas bills and electricity bills and vet bills and glasses and dentistry? We have to pay full price for everything – why?

Is it not us who pay tax to help the country survive? Is it not us who pay our way? So why are there so many people living off benefits being given everything to them on a plate?

I understand that there are some that really need help, and I truly get that, but there are also so many others who can work but don’t.

Myself and my wife have cried because of the cost of living, not wanting to get out of bed, not wanting to face the world,

But we have to. We have to get up at 5am and go out to work because we have to support ourselves – we don’t get the help.

Help us – help those who are paying for those who don’t want to help themselves but can.
