Top two pegged Back for a point

LEAGUE ONE ROUND-UP

LEAGUE One leaders Plymouth Argyle had to settle for a point as they drew 1-1 away to Lincoln City but second-placed Ipswich Town could not narrow the gap, as Cheltenham Town also left Portman Road with a 1-1 draw.

Adam Randell scored his third goal in five appearances for Argyle to open the scoring from 25 yards after Niall Ennis had a shot blocked after 31 minutes.

But the Imps equalised through Max Sanders when Argyle failed to clear a corner in first-half stoppage time.

At Ipswich, the Tractor Boys took an early lead when Leif Davis’s corner was flicked on by Wes Burns and Luke Woolfenden netted.

But this game was also level at the break when former Burton loanee Ryan Broom scored with a low shot.

Sheffield Wednesday closed the gap in third place with a 1-0 win away to Accrington Stanley.

The only goal came after 24 minutes when Barry Bannan’s cross ricocheted off Michael Smith’s chest into the path of Alex Mighten, whose shot bounced over goalkeeper Toby Savin.

Jevani Brown scored a stoppagetime winner as Exeter City upset fourth-placed Peterborough United 3-2.

Timothee Dieng’s 27th-minute opener for Exeter was cancelled out 13 minutes later by Jonson Clarkeharris and Ephron Mason-clark gave Posh the lead after 81 minutes.

Sam Nombe equalised after 86 minutes before the Grecians nicked the points.

Liam Shaw gave Morecambe a 36th-minute lead at home to Portsmouth but Colby Bishop equalised after 67 minutes and it stayed 1-1.

In a game in which, uniquely, all four officials were serving members of the armed forces, Cambridge United and Bolton Wanderers drew 0-0 at the Abbey Stadium.

Bolton had midfielder Kyle Dempsey sent off for a second yellow card after 75 minutes.

Adam Phillips struck a 10th-minute goal which proved to

be the only one of the game as Barnsley won away to Shrewsbury Town.

Oxford United are once more picking up after a sluggish start and they hammered Port Vale 4-0 at the Kassam Stadium.

Billy Bodin and Matty Taylor each scored twice.

David Wheeler and Garath Mccleary scored in the first half as Wycombe Wanderers won 2-0 away to Forest Green Rovers, who have replaced the Brewers on the bottom of the League One table on goal difference.

Fleetwood Town’s Shaun Rooney scored nine minutes into stoppage time to salvage a 2-2 draw for his side away to Bristol Rovers.

Rooney had given Fleetwood a 14th-minute lead but Josh Coburn, after 57 minutes, and the prolific Aaron Collins, after 80 minutes, scored to make a win seem likely for Rovers.
