Pay rises fall short

MEDIAN pay rises are continuing to fall behind inflation after remaining at 4% in recent months, according to a new report.

A study of 38 pay awards in the last three months covering more than half a million workers found most were higher than a year ago but still well below the rate of inflation.

Wage rises in the public sector continue to lag behind those in private firms, pay analysts Xperthr said.
