Where you can cheer on England with a pint

-

FOR the first time ever, the FIFA World Cup is taking place in the winter, which means gathering together to watch games is going to take place indoors, so we’ve put together a list of some of the pubs that will be showing the matches.

The tournament in Qatar kicks off tomorrow, when the hosts take on Ecuador, while Gareth Southgate’s England side play their first match at 1pm on Monday, when the Three Lions take on Iran in Group B.

In Burton town centre, there’s lots of great places you’ll be able to watch the Three Lions, as well as the tournament’s biggest games.

Some town centre pubs are offering a chance for people to cheer England on with a pint. It is also worth noting England’s other two Group B matches will be happening on Friday, November 25, and Tuesday, November 29 – with both matches kicking off at 7pm when there’s sure to be a good atmosphere.

Then, hopefully, they will have made it through their group and into the knockout stages of the competition.

Here is the list of pubs open on Monday for the first big game and when you can get in. ■■Roebuck Inn, open at noon ■■The Lord Burton Wetherspoons, opens at 8am

■■Prince of Brewers, opens at noon ■■Anchor Inn, opens at 10am ■■The Dog, opens at noon ■■The Albion, opens at 11am ■■Victoria Inn, opens at 11am ■■Uxbridge Arms, opens at 1pm
