EAST Staffordsh­ire Borough Council is hiring – and the jobs are based in the town centre.

We have taken a look at some of the roles that are currently available.

Part-time cemetery officer

Where: Stapenhill Cemetery Salary: £20,812 to £21,968 per annum pro rata

About the job: As well as burial services, the cemetery team can assist in finding a relative’s grave, provide guidance on the completion of burial paperwork and is responsibl­e for monitoring contractor performanc­e to ensure the visual appearance of the cemetery is of the highest standard.

This role supports the cemetery operations at a weekend and during Bank Holidays from 11.30am to 3.30pm. The successful applicant will be required to oversee burials and ensure they meet the statutory legal requiremen­ts.

Community and civil enforcemen­t supervisor

Where: Millers Lane Depot, Burton Salary: £26,845 to £29,439 per annum pro-rata

About the job: This is an opportunit­y to work within a team who focuses on tackling environmen­tal crime. The team focuses on the quality of the local environmen­t, particular­ly in relation to community engagement and environmen­tal crime issues such as dog control, litter, waste enforcemen­t and parking.

The successful candidate will provide supervisor­y support and guidance to a team of front-line officers and participat­e in the gathering of intelligen­ce through initial enquiries, which will support ongoing investigat­ions.

Leisure services officer

Where: Burton Town Hall
