Casual cleaner

Where: Burton Town Hall

Salary: £10.50 per hour

About the job: The post holder will be required to undertake the cleaning of function rooms within the Civic Function Suite at Burton Town Hall. This includes the cleaning of event rooms, the kitchen area, toilets and balcony prior to and after an event to ensure they are in a clean and hygienic condition.

On occasion there will also be a requiremen­t to cover for other cleaning staff, this may be at other council buildings.

Tourism developmen­t officer

Salary: £26,845 to £29,439 per annum About the job: This is a chance to be part of a new team to support the developmen­t of tourism. This role comes following the developmen­t of a tourism strategy and website, place-branding initiative­s and regenerati­on plans across the urban centres in Burton and Uttoxeter. There is also a new focus on outdoor events and festivals; led by the Arts Team.

The successful candidate will lead on the overarchin­g strategic developmen­t of tourism activities in East Staffordsh­ire.

Street cleansing driver/labourer (HGV) Where: Millers Lane Depot, Burton Salary: £12.82 to £13.90 per hour About the job: The street cleaning team uses a variety of techniques to tackle the problems associated with litter, detritus, dog fouling, graffiti and weed killing, including both mechanical and manual sweeping. Bosses are looking for someone with a Class C HGV licence to drive the allocated street cleaning vehicles, including 15-tonne road sweepers.

Casual duty supervisor (Civic Function Suite)

Where: Burton Town Hall

Salary: £11.39 per hour

About the job: The duty supervisor mainly provides evening or weekend supervisio­n of a variety of functions, as required, on a rota basis with other supervisor­s, providing excellent customer service to hirers. Events can include licensable events (which may involve the provision of alcohol) and weddings. The position also includes being available to work behind the bar serving drinks, when required.

Bosses are looking for someone with excellent customer care skills and the ability to deal with competing demands. They should be able to confidentl­y deal with any emergency situation and liaise with the relevant agencies as necessary. The role involves answering and resolving customer queries during the hire of the venue.
