STRICTLY COME DANCING: BLACKPOOL SPECIAL Tonight, BBC1, 7.45pm

It may usually be filmed at Elstree Studios, but there’s no doubt that Strictly Come Dancing’s spiritual home is in the Tower Ballroom at Blackpool. The annual seaside episode has become a Strictly tradition, but for the past two years, Covid restrictio­ns meant that the seaside trip had to be abandoned. This year though, the celebs are heading there once more, ready to perform on the famous sprung dancefloor. Who will rise to the occasion, and who will be somewhat awed by their surroundin­gs?

HOW TO WIN THE WORLD CUP Tomorrow, BBC1, regions vary

Winning the FIFA World Cup is the pinnacle of sporting achievemen­t. But what does it take to lift the most famous trophy in the world? This documentar­y features incredible tales from the last three World Cup-winning teams – France, Germany and Spain, using behindthe-scenes footage to explain their success.

The view from the dressing room is provided by tournament winners, including Germany quartet Manuel Neuer, Bastian Schweinste­iger, Per Mertesacke­r and Jurgen Klinsmann, Spain’s Andres Iniesta, Xavi and Cesc Fabregas and France pair Olivier Giroud and Marcel Desailly.

IOLO’S ANGLESEY Monday, BBC2, 7pm

Iolo heads out to sea to look for Risso’s dolphins, named after Antoine Risso, who studied them in the 19th century. Meanwhile underwater, an artificial reef has formed from an old shipwreck, plus Iolo finds roosting bats at an old priory, and dragonflie­s and beautiful rare plants on Anglesey’s fens.

ZARA MCDERMOTT: DISORDERED EATING Tuesday, BBC Three, 9pm

The former Love Island contestant’s latest documentar­y sees her explore the huge rise in eating disorders among children and young people. Disordered eating, as described by eating disorder charities, looks

different for everyone but may include undereatin­g or overeating, excessive exercise, focusing more on appearance and anxiety around mealtimes, among other things.

Between April and October 2021, hospital admissions for children aged 17 and under with eating disorders went up by over 40% and charities are concerned that social media may be compoundin­g the problem. This film will take an in-depth look at its impact.

Wednesday, Channel 4, 9pm

Kevin Mccloud is joined by Damion

Burrows, Michelle Ogundehin and Natasha Huq to unveil more contenders for the 2022 Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) House of the Year award.

In the latest episode they are exploring five properties that have undergone incredible transforma­tions, before revealing which one has made the shortlist.

BRIAN COX: HOW THE OTHER HALF LIVE Thursday, Channel 5, 9pm

Actor Brian Cox concludes his exploratio­n of our complicate­d relationsh­ip with wealth by taking a closer look at the American dream, asking if it’s true that anyone can make it big if they just work hard enough. To learn more, he meets people from both sides of the wealth gap, including a member of a media dynasty and homeless people on the streets of Harlem.

THE GRAHAM NORTON SHOW Friday, BBC1, regions vary

Daniel Craig drops by to talk about Glass Onion, the eagerly awaited sequel to 2019’s comedy-mystery Knives Out. Emma Thompson is also publicisin­g a movie – the big-screen version of Matilda the Musical, in which she plays the terrifying Miss Trunchbull. She may also take the opportunit­y to plug her children’s book, Jim’s Spectacula­r Christmas.

Plus, Ian Mckellen and John Bishop discuss teaming up for a touring panto, while Mastermind host Clive Myrie joins in the fun. Music comes from Charlie Puth.
