Santa reveals dates for his tour of town

- By JENNY MOODY jennifer.moody@reachplc.com

SANTA is getting his sleigh ready and wrapping up warm as he prepares to meet his adoring public on the streets of Burton.

The Burton Round Table will once again be supporting the big man himself when he heads out around the town and surrounding villages.

The yearly tradition brings delight to children and adults alike as Santa heads out on his sleigh around the area and also raises money for local charities with the help of volunteers.

A spokesman for the Burton Round Table joked: “Santa has sensationally responded to stories that he intends to visit Burton-on-trent this year to help the Round Table raise money for local charities.

“He released the news during the tumultuous press conference, following leaked reports of his plans by Burton Live.

“GDPR elves are said to be investigating an IT breach in the Lapland mainframe. Santa arrived at the press conference dressed in his traditional red suit and sporting a warm smile. The big man seemed on top form when he bellowed, ‘Ho ho ho, I do love visiting Burton-on-trent, it’s my favourite town in the world…’ . Oh and remember, please share this news with all of your friends.

“Going on to explain how the volunteers from Burton Round Table help to raise money for local charities, Father Christmas beamed, ‘I do love seeing everyone waving from their front gardens, especially the children.’”

This year Round Table will be introducing a new system named the ‘Santa Tracker’ which allows residents to track his exact location while he is out on his travels.

It is available at www.burtonsanta. co.uk, and this also contains all the dates and details about his upcoming visits to Burton, including how to donate online.

Here is where the Burton Round Table will be visiting and when:

“If you would like to help us support our local community, then contactless donations are available on Just Giving: https://www.justgiving.com/campaign/rtsanta2022

“We wish we could bring Santa to every street in Burton, but sadly our volunteer elves do have second jobs and Santa is also very busy this time of year. “Therefore we will not be able to accommodate requests to bring Santa to other areas not listed on our published routes. “Other organisations that support Santa in the Burton and surrounding areas include our friends at Swadlincote Round Table, Lichfield Round Table and particularly our friends at Burton Duke of Edinburgh - https://www.facebook.com/burtondofesanta.”
