Find out about precious finds from the past at history talk
ANYONE interested in finding out more about the late medieval and Civil War periods from the objects of those times, as well what life was like for ordinary folk, can attend an illustrated talk next month.
The Mid Trent & Mercia Branch of the Historical Association will be holding its next talk session at The Burton Library in upstairs meeting Room 2, on Saturday, December 10.
The talk is “Our Precious Past: Unearthing buried treasure and the stories it tells”.
In this illustrated talk, Richard Stone will look at precious finds from the age of Richard III and the Civil War period, before exploring less glamorous objects from the past that tell us about ordinary people and everyday lives.
The sessions will be from 10am to noon, with light refreshments provided. There is adequate car parking at the library. Attendance is free for all paid-up members of the historical association. For everyone else there is a standard payment of £6 per session, payable on the day.
