The star has been forced to pull out of tonight’s Strictly Come Dancing after testing positive for Covid. The former Corrie actress and presenter, who is partnered with Graziano Di Prima on the show, will return to the competition next week.
HANDBRAKES
The car part could be facing the end of the road. Just 13% of showroom models have a mechanical lever, down from 37% four years ago, according to the Manual Handbrake Report by cargurus.co.uk. The new electronic brakes replacing them are safer – but costlier to repair.
RESTAURANTS
The number of eateries going bust has soared by nearly 60% in the past year. There were 1,567 restaurant company insolvencies in the year to September, up from 984 in the previous 12 months, business advisory specialists Mazars found.
WAITROSE’S CHRISTMAS AD
The supermarket has edited its ad that showed farmers comparing sun tans, following criticism by melanoma patients and a skin cancer charity. Waitrose apologised after Melanoma UK said the scene failed to highlight dangers of the sun.
