Labour won in 15 out of 17 East Midlands regions

-

ACROSS Derbyshire, in only one area did Labour’s Claire Ward not come out on top in the election to appoint a first mayor of the East Midlands.

In the Derbyshire Dales, the Conservatives’ Ben Bradley topped the polls, although only just. The Tories claimed 6,101 votes to Labour’s 6,027.

It was a similar story across the border in Nottinghamshire, with Labour winning in every local council area except Newark and Sherwood, where the Conservaties came out on top.
