Nearly a quarter of pubs and bars yet to reopen

Almost a quarter of pubs and bars were still closed at the end of last month, according to data from CGA and AlixPartners. Licensed venues were forced to shut in March, but able to reopen from July 4. The report said that 76.3pc of venues had reopened by the end of the month, up from 61.7pc at the end of July, but nearly 27,000 licensed premises are yet to reopen.
