SING Hallelujah for the all new production of Sister Act starring Alexandra Burke. The Broadway and West End smash hit musical comedy returns to the UK starring former X Factor singer Alexandra. The show comes to Venue Cymru, in Llandudno, from May 22-27 next year.

Sister Act is directed and choreograp­hed by Strictly Come Dancing judge Craig Revel Horwood, who is no stranger to Venue Cymru having starred in both the musical Annie and in the panto Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs in recent years.

The show is a feel-amazing musical comedy based on the smash hit movie starring Whoopi Goldberg and Maggie Smith.

It features original music by Tony and eight-time Oscar winner Alan Menken (Disney’s Aladdin and Beauty and the Beast, Newsies, Enchanted), dazzling dance routines and songs inspired by Motown, soul and disco, Sister Act is the funniest and funkiest musical around.

Sister Act tells the story of Deloris Van Cartier, a disco diva whose life takes a surprising turn when she witnesses a murder. Under protective custody she is hidden in the one place she won’t be found – a Convent!

Disguised as a nun and under the suspicious watch of Mother Superior, Deloris helps her fellow sisters find their voices as she unexpected­ly rediscover­s her own. A sparkling tribute to the universal power of friendship, sisterhood and music.

After winning the X Factor in 2008, Alexandra most recently enjoyed success in the stage version of another hit movie - The Bodyguard - playing the role made famous by the late Whitney Houston.

Following her triumphant win in the hit TV singing show, Alexandra released Hallelujah, which became the current European record holder for single sales over a period of 24 hours, selling 105,000 in one day. The song also became the top-selling singleg of 2008 in the UK and thee UK’sUK’s Christmas number one. Byy Janu-January 2009, the single had soldld overover one million copies in thehe UKUK alone, a first for a Britishiti­sh female soloist.

Alexandra landed herselflf a role as guest judge on the BBC’s So You Think You Can Dance UK panel. She later became the first contestant of The X Factor to return to the ITV show as a guest judge, during the eighth seriess live finals.

Anwen Roberts’s art is inspired by rural living and her background in agricultur­e.

Portraying the seasonal changes of landscapes, of light and colour, and of the varied and numerous activities that are carried out during the farming year, Anwen combines her passion for painting with the wonderful yet challengin­g life of farming, and the highs and lows it brings to the people, animals and landscape within it.
