MR ROBERT POOLE: Of Cernyw, Llanbedrog, Pwllheli, died on August 12, at Ysbyty Gwynedd Bangor, aged 78 years. Bob was well known locally as a plumber, though he also did painting and decorating. He was originally from Birmingham but had lived in Llanbedrog for over 40 years, and absolutely loved living here. His funeral was held on Monday, August 22, a public service at Bangor Crematoriu­m. It was officiated by the Venerable Andrew Carrol Jones and the organist was Mr D W Williams. A Tribute was given by Bob’s eldest granddaugh­ter, Leia Poole who lives in Kildare, Southern Ireland. The bearers were Dylan, Dafydd and Rodney Poole, and Rob Evans, sons and stepsons. Family mourners were Anwen Poole (wife), Dafydd and Nia, Rod and Gill, Dylan and Janeen, Elaine and Barry, and Robert and Hayley (sons, daughter, wives and husband). Leia, Anna-Mai, Erin, Rhys, Ella and Alan, Rhianna and Ryan, Gareth, David, Ben and Sam (grandchild­ren). Harry and Minnie and Bessie, (brother and sisters), Joyce and Jackie, David and Tina (nephews and nieces). Nanette Williams (mother-in-law) Anwyn and Catherine, Mag and Neil, Robin and Bethan, Dafydd, Glyn and Anne (brothers and sister-in-law and spouses). His nieces and nephews many travelled from far away, and numerous friends and neighbours. Donations were received towards Macmillan nurses. Flowers from Anwen, Dafydd and Nia, Rod and Gill, Dylan and Janeen, all the grandchild­ren, Harry and Minnie. Unavoidabl­y absent were Noel and Christine Roberts. Funeral refreshmen­ts were held at Glyn y Weddw Arms. The funeral arrangemen­ts were by GD Roberts & Son, Chapel of Rest, Pwllheli.

AFTERNOON TEA DANCE: Why not come along? A friendly group who welcome new members so why not give it a try? A Dance or two - A Cuppa or two - A friend or two. Upstairs in the Church Hall Llanbedrog every Wed 2pm-4pm. Small contributi­on of £2.50 appreciate­d.

LLANBEDROG ART CLUB: A friendly group who extend a warm welcome to new members. Beginners and experience­d artists invited. Occasional talks/ demos from profession­al artists. The group meets every Mon 1.30pm-4.30pm at St Pedrog’s Church Hall. Subs £2 including tea and biscuits.

BALLROOM AND LATIN AMERICAN: Dance Classes in Llanbedrog Village Hall, Cae Hendy on Wednesday evenings. Practice session 7pm-7.45pm. Improvers Class 8pm-9.30pm. Social Dance/Practice Dance on the first Wednesday of every month 7.30pm-10.15pm. Private Lessons by arrangemen­t. Qualified Teacher with the IDTA. Call Kerstina on 07920 446976.

KNITTING AND SEWING GUILD: Is a group of ladies who knit babies to adults jumpers and toys and many sewn items too. It is open to the public every Thurs 2pm-4pm in the Church Hall when they sell these items. All monies go to local charities. More knitters are needed so do come along or phone Rosie on 01758 740184 for info.

DRU YOGA CLASS: Llanbedrog Church Hall. Monday 11am-12.15pm. Dru Yoga is practised by people of all abilities, all fitness levels and all age groups, with classes tailored to the needs of each individual.
