Three players in and four out for Caernarfon

-

THERE have been numerous comings and goings at Caernarfon Town over the past week.

Joining the HG Alliance champions are midfielder Alex Jones, young goalkeeper Keighan Jones and former Maidstone United central operator Charley Robertson.

Meanwhile, midfielder Jay Gibbs, defender Michael Johnston, goalkeeper Mike Jones and striker Corrig McGonigle, who has moved to Welsh Alliance club Glantraeth, have all left The Oval.

The Canaries will aim to make it six successive league victories this Saturday when they host Caersws (2.30pm).

Last weekend saw the Cofis edge a 1-0 triumph at Ruthin Town.

Caernarfon started brightly, Darren Thomas’ header coming back off the crossbar before Ruthin keeper Dylan Jones somehow denied Kevin Lloyd from the rebound.

After stemming the tide, the hosts threatened themselves on 13 minutes when keeper Keighan Jones had to produced a fine save from Will Owen.

However, it was the Canaries who broke the deadlock in the 36th minute when Thomas picked the ball up midway inside the Ruthin half before expertly steering a low shot beyond Jones.

The home team, bottom of the table but making a good fist of things, improved in an attacking sense in the second half, but Caernarfon still looked the more threatening.

Jamie Breese turned well in the area before firing wide, then Thomas was just off radar.

Keighan Jones did well to thwart Owen again and Caernarfon’s Thomas hit the woodwork again before the final whistle blew on an away victory.
