LLANNOR/EFAILNEWYD­D WI: met on October 9 at the Sports Club, after the business section of the meeting Jean Coker welcomed speaker Colin Evans from Aberdaron. Colin used to be a lobster fisherman, but now runs the ferry service to Bardsey, transporti­ng visitors, goods and animals. He had moved 450 lambs off the island on the day he spoke to the WI. His family have been involved with Bardsey for 5 generation­s, he spent much of his childhood living there. Colin is passionate about Bardsey and has recently purchased the lighthouse and buildings from Trinity House, he is hoping to establish a distillery there. He is very knowledgea­ble about Bardsey, its history and its wildlife. Joyce B gave the vote of thanks, raffles were won by Jean C, Dilys & Miriam. Competitio­n winners were Diana, Pam & Dilys.
