Let an archive search take you back in time
ACAMPAIGN across Wales will be celebrating and showcasing the best of archives and archive services during November.
Explore Your Archive aims to open the phenomenal archival collections held by organisations – public and private – across the UK and Ireland, whatever their size and scale and wherever they are.
The campaign is owned by the sector itself and delivered by a wide range of partners and stakeholders including the National Archives and the Archives and Records Association (UK & Ireland).
Visiting an archive can take you on an adventure and you may end up discovering much more than you imagined. Archives enable all of us to discover the stories, the facts, the places and people that are at the heart of our communities.
There will be a short introductory course on Saturday, November 18 aimed at those who have not used an archive before.
A Welsh medium course will take place from 10am to 12pm and an English medium course will take place from 2 to 4pm. It is essential to book a place by phoning 01286 679095 or emailing ArchifdyCaernarfon@ gwynedd. llyw. cymru
Archives are full of fascinating content to read, touch and explore, and most of it isn’t available online. Take time to explore archives – you’ll be amazed to find what lies within.
Whether you’re interested in family history, your local community, sport in your area or its past industries there will be something to inspire you in archives.
