Sisters put to sword

-

20-14.

Tiaan Loots continued his impressive attacking performance when he broke down the wing before setting up fellow centre Tom Hughes for a third home try.

Botica nailed the conversion to establish a 13-point lead.

If the crowd thought the game was over, a few nails were to be bitten in the final 10 minutes as the visitors got back into the match with some gusto.

Adam Francis Williams ran through to score his side’s third try and Jones was on form again with the boot.

It was now a six-point game, but RGC were also pushing for the bonus-point try.

That try did not arrive, but they picked up the win against a Bedwas team who challenged them until the end. CAERNARFON Ladies stormed to a 96-10 victory over Seven Sisters in the first round of the Women’s Super Cup.

The Cofis notched up eight converted tries in the first half - five in the opening quarter-hour - for a total of 56 points.

Rachel Taylor (3), Jess Kavanagh-Williams, Elen Evans and Beth Davies (3) provided the touchdowns, Davies adding eight lots of extras.

After the break, Taylor, Evans, wing Rhian Pritchard and Davies brought the try count up to 12.

Rachel Rees and Carole-Ann Burt chalked up consolation tries for the visitors, but Caernarfon fittingly had the last word, former Wales captain Taylor crossing for her fifth before current international KavanaghWilliams notched her brace.

Davies landed three more conversions, Taylor and Kavanagh-Williams each splitting the posts once.

Caernarfon Under-18s also defeated their Seven Sisters counterparts 59-10.
