£140k SOUGHT FOR BEACH HUT

That’s the auction guide price for 9ft x 8ft building at Abersoch:

A BEACH hut in Gwynedd is up for sale with a guide price of £140,000.

Measuring only 9ft x 8ft, the wooden hut with a corrugated roof goes under the hammer next month at Liverpool auctioneer­s, Sutton Kersh.

According to the auctioneer­s it is an ideal opportunit­y to buy “an iconic freehold beach hut on the Abersoch main beach.”

Beach Hut 2 is on Porth Mawr, the main beach in the village resort.

The yellow and blue painted hut has wooden steps leading up to its double wooden doors.

Local planning policies ban any main services including water, drainage or electricit­y from being connected to the hut.

Rules state that hut cannot be slept in overnight and is purely for leisure purposes only.

The No2 hut and is the second along to the left of the main launching slipway on the beach from the direction of the golf club car park.

Beach huts are said to be like gold dust at Abersoch with average prices more than £125,000.

Last year, a slightly larger hut t on the same beach sold for a record £160,000 – £10,000 above the average house price in Gwynedd.

The previous beach hut high was £153,000 in April 2016.

Hut No2 is being sold at public auction by Sutton Kersh Auctioneer­s at the Crowne Plaza, a, 2 St Nicholas Place, Liverpool on Thursday, May 17 at 12pm.
