Biker left fighting for his life after crash
A BIKER was left fighting for his life after a crash on the A487in Gwynedd.
The man, in his 20s, was airlifted to hospital in Stoke after the incident, near Dolgellau .
Two motorcycles were involved in the crash. The driver of the other vehicle was said to be unharmed.
Police are now appealing for witnesses to the collision, which happened at around 2pm not far from the Cross Foxes pub at the junction with the A470, on Sunday.
The road was closed in both directions for several hours while emergency services worked at the scene.
As part of the investigation, officers are looking for any witnesses who were in the area at the time with information about the incident or who may have witnessed the motorcyclists just beforehand.

Later, a second motorist was in a serious condition after her vehicle crashed on the Crimea Pass.
The casualty, a woman, was flown to Stoke following the accident, which happened on the A487 between Dolwyddelan and the Slate Caverns at around 3pm on Sunday afternoon.
The road was closed in both directions for over four hours while emergency services attended the scene.
Before the bank holiday weekend even started properly, a motorcyclist died following a two-vehicle crash near the A483 in Wrexham.
North Wales Police confirmed that the man was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash between a motorcycle and a silver Fiat 500 on the junction of the A525 and the A483 just after 4pm today.
The road was closed but later re-opened and police have said that enquiries are now under way.
Sergeant Raymond Williams of the Roads Policing Unit said: “Sadly, this is now being investigated as a fatal road traffic collision and our thoughts remain with the man’s family who are now being supported by a specially-trained Family Liaison Officer.
“We know the area was busy at the time and we are appealing to anybody who may have witnessed the collision, or to anybody who may have seen the motorcycle – that was travelling from the general direction of Coedpoeth – prior to the collision, to contact us.”
The crash was the second in the area, with a motorcyclist taken to hospital with serious injuries following a crash near the Posthouse Roundabout.
