CRASH AT AIR­PORT

Pi­lot and pas­sen­ger walk away af­ter light air­craft over­turns:

A LUCKY pi­lot and pas­sen­ger es­caped with just mi­nor in­juries af­ter their light air­craft over­turned on land­ing at Caernar­fon air­port.

The emer­gency ser­vices were called at 1.20pm on Satur­day to re­ports that an air­craft had crashed through the perime­ter fence and over­turned in an ad­ja­cent field. Emer­gency ser­vices were called to the scene in­clud­ing two fire en­gines from Ban­gor and Caernar­fon, the am­bu­lance ser­vice and the po­lice. An Air Am­bu­lance was de­ployed but was not needed.

The pi­lot and pas­sen­ger were taken to Ys­byty Gwynedd by an am­bu­lance for a check­over.

Caernar­fon Air­port is four miles from the town.
