Mak­ing SCC cheese for 65 years

TWO long-serv­ing staff at South Caernar­fon Cream­eries (SCC) have been given a pat on the back for reach­ing em­ploy­ment mile­stones.

Cel­e­brat­ing 40 years at the Ch­wilog dairy co­op­er­a­tive is Mor­gan Owen, who works in the cream­ery’s cheese depart­ment.

Mor­gan, who lives in nearby Lla­n­ar­mon, is part of the team that makes SCC’s award-win­ning Dragon Cheeses.

Also mark­ing an em­ploy­ment land­mark is Gareth Parry, from Ne­fyn, who has clocked up 25 years’ ser­vice.

Gareth – af­fec­tion­ately known as Char­lie – is based in bulk milk re­cep­tion and so is the first port of call for milk tankers ar­riv­ing at the cream­ery.

Both were last week pre­sented with a to­ken of ap­pre­ci­a­tion by managing di­rec­tor Alan Wyn-Jones.
