Arfon’s tough start to season continues with heavy loss

-

CAERNARFON Town Ladies’ difficult start to the campaign continued when they lost 7-2 at home to Llandudno in the Welsh Premier Women’s League Cup last weekend.

It only took nine minutes for the deadlock to be broken, Kelsey Davies tapping in for the visitors after a good move.

Soon after Fflur Williams made it 2-0, turning her defender and firing a beauty into the top corner.

Llandudno kept the ball moving and the standard of their play allowed Mari Gibbard to get the third goal of the first half, a left-footer slotted into the bottom corner.

The visitors began the second half very brightly, Davies setting up Williams on 47 minutes for the fourth.

Both wingers were always an option out wide for the black and whites, Williams getting to the byline to pull the ball back for Anna Jones to fire home and make it 5-0 against her former club.

Caernarfon hit back when a long range effort from Ffion Owen put them on the scoreboard.

Tudno hit back immediately, Sofie Owen tapping in after nice combination play with Davies.

Caernarfon once again stepped up their pass and move effort, allowing Ffion Owen to net her second.

In the 88th minute, Llandudno rounded off the scoring when another great delivery from Davies set up Williams for her treble.

Caernarfon are away to Cyncoed Ladies this Sunday.
