Ar­rested after col­li­sion leaves man with ‘mul­ti­ple in­juries’

AMAN has ap­peared in court charged over a se­ri­ous two-ve­hi­cle crash on the A499 in Gwynedd.

James Leach, 39, went be­fore Llan­dudno mag­is­trates on Satur­day morn­ing charged with dan­ger­ous driv­ing and fail­ing to stop after an ac­ci­dent in which a man was se­ri­ously in­jured.

Leach, of Oak Road, Chelford, Mac­cles­field, in Cheshire, did not en­ter a plea.

It fol­lows a col­li­sion be­tween a pick-up ve­hi­cle and a VW van near Peny­groes, at 5am on Fri­day.

The man driv­ing the VW was taken to Ys­byty Gwynedd in Ban­gor with se­ri­ous, but not life-threat­en­ing mul­ti­ple in­juries.

The joiner has been re­leased on bail to ap­pear in court at Caernar­fon this Thurs­day on con­di­tion he does not en­ter North Wales ex­cept to at­tend court, doesn’t drive and doesn’t con­tact wit­nesses.

Po­lice are ap­peal­ing for wit­nesses to the col­li­sion to con­tact of­fi­cers at the Roads Polic­ing Unit on 101 quot­ing ref­er­ence num­ber W141782.
