Pwll battle hard but Menai Mavericks take the spoils

MENAI Mavericks recorded a fine 28-22 win over Pwllheli in the Gwynedd and Anglesey Winter Netball League Division One.

Pwll led 7-6 after the first quarter but, by half time, the Anglesey team were 14-10 ahead.

After taking the third 8-3, Menai had set up a winning lead, even though Pwllheli battled back to win the last 9-6.

Dyffryn Penygroes Ladies defeated Moniars 24-15. PoM: DPL - Greta Jams; Moniars - Elin Barwick.

Arfon Ladies overturned an 11-9 half time deficit to pip Tim o Walis 18-17. PoM: Arfon - Rachel Southall; Walis - Elli Johnstone.

Penygroes Primos produced a dramatic late fightback to beat Dolgellau Ladies 24-20.

It was 16-15 to Dolgellau ahead of the final quarter, but Primos won the curtain-closer 9-4 to claim victory.
